Happening Now. Auto-populated from the event feed — shows events happening within the next 7 days, sorted by date (soonest first). No custom teaser copy per card. All card content (title, category, date, time, venue, image) pulled directly from the event record. Badges auto-applied: "Tonight" if event is today, "Free" if price is $0/free, "Don't Miss" if event is tagged Featured Event. Section tag date range auto-generates from current date. Max 5 cards shown.

Featured Event. Auto-populated from the event feed — displays the next upcoming event tagged "Featured Event" in WordPress. All content pulled from the event record: title, date/time, location, description, and featured image. Countdown badge auto-calculates from event date. "Learn More" links to the event detail page. Section is hidden when no event carries the featured tag. Only one featured event shown at a time (nearest date wins if multiple are tagged).

Evergreen section — exists year-round regardless of whether events are currently active. Dark background + cinematic imagery creates visual separation from dynamic content above. Three signature events only: Gallery Hop, Holiday Hop, Hops on High. Next upcoming event gets visual emphasis (bolder border, urgency cue). Urgency cues are conditional: "This Saturday" / "Coming Up: [Month]" / "In [X] Saturdays".

Clear, confident handoff to the full filterable calendar. High-contrast band — should not be subtle. Category pill teasers show the calendar's depth and hint at available filters. The full calendar is the primary research tool for a large portion of visitors — it's not a fallback. Optional: total event count for social proof.

Journey Builder bridges event browsing and visit planning — the most important cross-section integration point on the Events side. Four sequential steps: Eat Before → See a Gallery → Drinks After → Where to Park. Horizontal flow on desktop (with connecting line), vertical stack on mobile. Launching in Mode 1 (static links only, no maintenance). Mode 2 (rotating restaurant/bar suggestions, SNA-selected) planned for Phase 2 once Section 2 editorial workflow is stable.

Compact utility strip — eliminates last practical barriers between a visitor and showing up. Four icon-forward links to Parking + Safety sub-pages. Should feel like a helpful footer band, not a full content section. 4-up horizontal on desktop / 2×2 tablet / vertical stack mobile. No photography.

B2B / community-facing CTA — NOT a primary visitor path. Compact, low visual weight, no photography. Welcomes organizers (businesses, artists, community groups) to submit events. Expectation-setter reduces spam: "reviewed before publication." Links to submit form (native CMS form or third-party tool — TBD). Should feel like a helpful footnote, not a competing hero.
