Navigation: 3 mega menus (Events, Eat & Drink, Explore) with 2/3 link pane + 1/3 editorial spotlight panel. 2 simple dropdowns (Parking & Safety, About) with icon + label + description per row. Donate CTA styled as distinct button. Per SNA_Navigation_Strategy_OSA: mega menus trigger on hover (200ms open / 300ms close delay in production); editorial panels are CMS-managed single post references with fallback defaults; Explore groups subpages by section (Art & Culture, Shopping, Experiences, Stay); Shopping nav shows only Fashion, Gifts, and All Shopping (analytics-informed — other categories accessible via landing page); Events editorial panel uses NAVY background; Eat & Drink and Explore editorial panels use white background. Mobile: all menus convert to accordion drawers, editorial panels omitted.
Live music — performer on stage, crowd in foreground, energy visible. Evening atmosphere.
Something Is Always On
Jazz on a Tuesday. A band you've never heard of on Friday. Drag on Saturday. A busker on the sidewalk during Gallery Hop. The Short North runs performances seven nights a week across a dozen venues — the only question is which night you're free.
§1 — Page Hero. Full-width, high energy over polish — this page should feel like the district at night. "Something Is Always On" directly addresses the breadth problem — tells the user who didn't know the Short North had a music scene that they've been missing something. Copy uses a weekday cadence (Tuesday jazz, Friday bands, Saturday drag) to make the claim concrete. Name-checks drag explicitly as a differentiator. Evening atmosphere is essential — if the image feels daytime, the performance occasion framing falls flat. No hero CTA — the Upcoming Shows module is the action layer. A drag performance photograph in the hero would be a confident, specific choice no comparable Columbus destination would make.

§2 — Browse & Filter: Venue Directory. Covers the full range: dedicated music venues, bars with regular live music, theaters, outdoor stages. 3-up card grid. Filter by Type and Genre/Format (Jazz, Rock & Indie, Drag & Cabaret, Theater & Comedy, Multi-Format). "Upcoming shows count" badge (e.g., "3 shows this week") is aspirational Phase 2 — requires events feed integration. The mix matters — a bar with a Tuesday jazz residency belongs here alongside a 400-seat concert venue. Evening-toned imagery in cards. Filter labels must be confirmed against District 360 tagging. If unavailable at launch, start sort-only (A–Z).

Jazz in the Short North
The Set Starts at Nine
Most nights of the week, there is live jazz happening in the Short North. [Venue] has been running it consistently since [year] — different musicians, same low-lit room, same reason to show up on a Tuesday. Walk in. Find a seat. The set starts at nine.

§3 — Editorial Spotlight: Rotating Feature. Unlike the Galleries page where Gallery Hop is the permanent subject, this spotlight rotates freely across venues, performers, genres, and occasions. Suggested rotation: jazz venue in January, drag performer in February, outdoor stage in June, Gallery Hop music in Gallery Hop months. Copy register: a recommendation from someone who goes to shows — opinionated, specific, warm. Not promotional. Monthly update cadence, or around notable upcoming events. Owned by SNA Communications / Marketing Team — this is the highest editorial maintenance commitment on the page. Build a loose annual editorial calendar rather than deciding ad hoc. Dark/atmospheric background — this section should feel like the evening.

§4 — Upcoming Shows. Auto-populated from events feed — performance-type events, sorted chronologically, closest first. Compact list format preferred over card grid given higher event volume (15–30 events/month). Each entry: date, event name, venue (linked), time, genre tag, ticket/RSVP link. Past events removed automatically. 30-day lookahead default. This is the timely core of the page — the answer to "what's on this week?" Ticket links open in new tabs. Integration dependency: confirm performance events are consistently tagged in the events feed. If volume exceeds 8–10 items, paginated or "See All Shows" link routes to full Events calendar.

§5 — Cross-Sell Block. "Plan Your Night" — more specific than "Make a Night of It" and directly mirrors the occasion-based framing. Eat & Drink leads (first tile, left-most) because pre-show dining is the strongest and most direct cross-sell on this page. Gallery Hop tile reinforces that Gallery Hop is also a music event — cross-pollinates the Galleries and Music pages. All tile images should feel like an evening in the district — consistent atmosphere across all three. Standard 3-tile layout on desktop, single column on mobile.
